Photosymbionts and Photosymbiosis

So today, since I’m writing a paper on it, I wanted to bring up photosymbiosis. Which I touched upon with coral and coral bleaching.

Photosymbionts are microscopic plants that live inside coral. They’re actually not unique to coral – plankton uses them, some clams, and other animals.

In the case of coral they absorb UV and turn it to energy which then feeds the coral during the day. At night the coral “awakens” and reaches out for it’s own food via polyps.

I think it’d be cool to have plants living in me to feed me energy. I could use more.
